Jujutsu Kaisen, the smash-hit manga by Gege Akutami, depicts the fierce struggle between "Curses" born from human negative emotions and "Jujutsu Sorcerers" who exorcise them. Serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018, the story reached its grand finale in September 2024, concluding a six-and-a-half-year run. The series has surpassed a staggering 150 million copies in worldwide circulation (including digital versions). Starting in September 2025, a near-future spin-off titled Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo), written by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, began its short-term intensive serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump.
The TV anime launched on the MBS/TBS network in 2020, followed by the second season "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" and "Shibuya Incident" in 2023, which received overwhelming acclaim worldwide. In 2025, a special theatrical project was implemented to revisit the world of Jujutsu Kaisen chronologically: the compilation film Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death in May; the revival screening of the global 26.5 billion yen hit Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in October; and in November, Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident Special Edition x Culling Game Early Screening, which featured a special edit of the Shibuya Incident connected to the first two episodes of the upcoming Season 3. Furthermore, starting in January 2026 on the MBS/TBS network, the "Culling Game"—a deathmatch between jujutsu users orchestrated by Kenjaku—finally begins.
